Directions to Georgia Public Fishing Areas

BALDWIN FOREST (Baldwin County)

Location: 4 mi. south of Milledgeville
Hunting, Fishing - WMA stamp is required to fish, Bird Watching, Field Trial Access, Boat Ramps

BIG LAZER CREEK (Talbot County)

Fish Species: Largemouth bass, Bluegill & Redear sunfish, Channel catfish, Crappie
Water: 195 acre lake
Facilities: concrete two-lane boat ramp, fishing pier, restrooms, picnic tables, primitive camping
DIRECTIONS FROM TALBOTTON: East on US Hwy 80 for 4 miles; left on Po Biddy Road for 6.4 miles; left on Bunkham Road; left into area

DODGE COUNTY

Water: 104 acre lake
Facilities: concrete boat ramps , fishing pier, restrooms, picnic tables, nature trail
DIRECTIONS FROM EASTMAN: South on US Hwy 23/341 from GA 46/117 2.1 miles, note intersection of US 341 and Business 341. Continue 1.9 miles on US 341; turn left on County Road 49 for 0.6 miles into PFA.

CHARLIE ELLIOTT WILDLIFE CENTER (Jasper & Newton Counties)

Facilities: concrete boat ramps (6 lakes), boat docks, restrooms, fishing piers, picnic areas, primitive camping
Water: 22 ponds totalling 295 acres. Ponds range in size from 1 to 95 acres.
DIRECTIONS FROM MANSFIELD: South on GA Hwy 11 for 2.7 miles; left on Marben Farms Rd. (Co. Rd. 229)

EVANS COUNTY

Water: three ponds encompassing 122 acres (8, 30, 84 acres)

DIRECTIONS FROM CLAXTON: East on US Hwy 280 for 6.5 miles; right on Sunbury Road (CR 204) for 0.8 mile; left on Area Line Road (CR 76)(dirt), PFA 0.4 mile on right marked by Wildlife Resources sign

McDUFFIE (McDuffie County)

Water: 12 ponds varying in size from 1 to 30 acres
Facilities: concrete boat ramps, restrooms, picnic tables, tent and RV camping in designated areas
DIRECTIONS FROM THOMSON: South on Hwy 17 to US Hwy 278; left (east) for 5.6 miles; right on Ellington Airline Road for 2.8 miles; right on Fish Hatchery Road for 0.8 miles

PARADISE (Berrien County)

Water: 75 lakes encompassing 525 acres of water. Lake Bobbin, Patrick, and Tackle Buster are closed for repair

DIRECTIONS FROM TIFTON: East on US Hwy 82 for 8 miles to Brookfield-Nashville Road near Brookfield

ROCKY MOUNTAIN RECREATION & PUBLIC FISHING AREA (Floyd County)

Water: two lakes (202 & 357 acres)
Facilities: concrete boat ramps, fishing jetties, restrooms, picnic shelters, scenic overlooks, hiking trails
Fee: Rocky Mt PFA parking permit (daily or annual) required
(one per vehicle, not # of individuals) required by all users, WMA stamp not required
DIRECTIONS FROM ROME: North on US Hwy 27 for 10.4 miles, left on Sike Storey Road 0.4 miles, left on Big Texas Valley Road 5.4 miles to entrance

TREUTLEN COUNTY

Fish Species: Largemouth bass, Bluegill, Redear sunfish, Warmouth, Flier, Brown bullhead, Crappie
Water: 189 acre lake
Facilities: concrete boat ramp
DIRECTIONS FROM SOPERTON: From GA 15/29 and US 221, go east 0.5 mile to GA 46. Turn left on 46 and immediately turn right on Belk Street. Go north for 3.9 miles; at Wildlife Resources sign turn right onto CR 193 (dirt road ). Go east 1.5 miles to end, good forest (mostly pine), good view at end. Limited ducks. Also a lake crossing 0.3 mile north of CR 193 on Belk Road, but limited shoulder.
